The enormous polo statue is perched on top of a three-story structure with recreational facilities.
The inner framework of the statue is composed of steel, while its exterior is coated in bronze. Professor Somnath Ghose of Jadavpur University created the design.The statue was built in his honor to celebrate the sport’s history in Manipur and to promote tourism in the region. It was inaugurated by Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs of the Government of India,on January 6th, 2023 in the presence of Nongthombam Biren, the then Chief Minister of Manipur.
